Himachal Pradesh is home ground for us. Our office sits in Solan, a short drive from Shimla, so the roads, hotels and seasons of this state are things we know first-hand.

Spend a few easy days on the Mall Road in Shimla, drive up through Kullu to the snow at Solang and Atal Tunnel, or head west to Dharamshala and Dalhousie for pine forests and Tibetan culture. In summer the hills are a cool escape; in winter many of them turn white.

Best time to visit

March to June for pleasant sightseeing, October–November for clear skies, and December to February if you want snow.
